By Lauren J. LoefflerPosted May 04, 2017 07:19:03While summer movies have become more and more popular with audiences in recent years, it seems to be just as much of a struggle to find an accessible summer movie in 2017 as it was in the 1980s.
It may seem strange, but summer movies were all but wiped out during the 1980-1989 recession, and now summer is the time for summer moviegoers to get into their gear.
This year, however, summer is a different story.
As we head into summer, we are getting a new wave of summer movies.
Here’s a look at some of the summer movies you should be checking out:1.
“Cars 2” (July 17)With “Cats 2” a hit on both coasts, we get a second chance to see if there is any truth to the rumors that this summer will be a year of car movies.
“Toy Story 3,” the second film in the Cars franchise, will hit theaters on July 17, and will have a big effect on the franchise as a whole.
And with the release of “Chips 2” on July 13, this will also be the last “Caters” movie until 2020.
If you want to see “Toy Stories 3,” be prepared for a lot of action.
As of now, “Corkscrew” is the only new film to be released this summer, so be sure to check out those sequels.2.
“Solo” (June 27)With a new season on the way, there will be new movies to be made, and the release date for “Solitary” is June 27.
The first of these movies is based on a true story, and if you want a true-life experience, you might want to wait a bit before you get your popcorn.3.
“Fifty Shades of Grey” (May 17)After a long wait, the first installment of “Fingers of Fate” finally gets released on May 17.
This is an “A” rated, supernatural thriller that focuses on the story of a young woman who is a fan of the Fifty Shades of Darker series.
Fans of the series have been waiting a long time for this film to come out, and it will hopefully finally get a release date soon.4.
“The Blacklist” (April 25)With its release date in April, “The Dark Knight Rises” will finally be in theaters on April 25, and “Furious 7” will be the first superhero movie to hit theaters in over three years.
However, for many, it will be their last chance to get their fix before the May 6, 2019 release date.5.
“Pixar Toy Story” (March 28)It’s hard to go back to “Frozen” without seeing “Paint It Black.”
This movie, based on the popular Pixar cartoon, will be released on March 28, and fans will get a chance to experience it on a huge screen.6.
“Guardians of the Galaxy” (February 27)A new sequel to the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, this one will follow the adventures of the Guardians of the galaxy as they try to survive the aftermath of a devastating attack on their home planet.7.
“Zootopia” (January 28)Zootropolis is back for a second go at the big screen with the sequel to this popular animated series.
This time, it stars Judy Hopps as Judy Hooves, the leader of the “Zoetropeans,” and it is going to be a great movie to watch.8.
“Empire” (December 14)After the first two “Transformers” films, there is a new installment of the Transformers franchise in theaters, and we will be getting a chance at seeing this new film.9.
“Gravity” (November 25)After another “Transformants” movie, there was a new “Transformron” film in theaters.
This new “Toys R Us exclusive” film is set in the same universe, so we should get a better look at this new “Graviton” film.10.
“Inception” (October 27)In the “Transformations” universe, there are two “Goddesses of the Night” films coming out in theaters this year.
Both of these films will have you on your feet and ready for action.11.
“Tomb Raider” (September 29)The third “Transformators” movie is set to hit theatres on September 29, and you can be ready to fight crime.12.
“Transform” (August 30)”Transformers: Dark of the Moon” and “Transform 2” will release simultaneously on August 30 and September 1, respectively.13.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (2018)It looks like 2017 will be our year of the Force.
With the release dates of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” “The Fate
