Posted August 12, 2018 06:02:20 It’s been a little over a month since Florida announced a new rule requiring students wearing seat belts to wear them.
And we’ve already had a slew of accidents at Florida’s public schools.
Here are 10 of the most notable.

On Monday, the state began requiring children to wear seat belts at schools and playgrounds nationwide.
The rule is meant to prevent injuries in crashes and other accidents, but some parents worry it’s also meant to keep kids safe.
Here’s what you need to know about the rule.
Florida requires students to use seat belts when driving and allowing children to ride in the back of vehicles is a safety measure.
The new law requires students in grades 7 through 12 to wear the belts if they’re being driven by a parent, teacher or caretaker.
If the child falls out of the vehicle or the car rolls over, the seat belt must be in place.
But in cases of serious injury, the belt must not be used.
It can be a serious problem for older students who are older than the average age of the students.
According to the National Safety Council, seat belts can also be dangerous for children younger than 14, who are not protected from injuries by seat belts.
The state’s Department of Transportation said that in 2017, about 2,700 students fell out of school-provided vehicles and were transported to the hospital.
